Women’s Health Program

The Women Health Program is transforming fitness and well-being for girls and women in India, empowering them with essential knowledge, support, and resources tailored to their unique health needs.

Program Details

This comprehensive initiative is designed to build awareness and resilience among coaches and female athletes by addressing the most critical aspects of women’s health in sport. The Women Health Program consists of targeted workshops, data tracking, and research-driven interventions covering topics such as puberty, menstruation, female nutrition, breast and pelvic health, and mental wellness. To date, the program has delivered 250 workshops, impacted over 8,000 athletes and coaches, distributed 1,000 sanitary pads, and is actively tracking menstrual data for 300 athletes. Supported by an investment of 75 lakhs by SSF, the workshops cater to mixed age groups and aim to reach at least 8,000 more beneficiaries by 2025.

  • Menstrual Health Literacy
  • To educate athletes on menstrual health and its direct impact on sports performance.

In these sessions, athletes are given the knowledge and confidence to proactively manage their menstrual health, reducing its impact on their participation and athletic achievements. This includes understanding puberty changes, the importance of menstrual hygiene, and awareness of breast and pelvic health challenges specific to female athletes.

  • Female Athlete Nutrition
  • To equip female athletes with strategies for balanced nutrition tailored to their unique physiological needs.

Workshops and guidance focus on helping athletes develop personalized nutrition plans to optimize energy, enhance recovery, and boost overall performance. Participants learn about key nutritional requirements at different stages of development and how to maintain balanced diets for peak athletic success.

  • Mental Health and Emotional Resilience
  • To address the unique mental health challenges faced by female athletes and provide tools for emotional well-being and resilience.

This division empowers girls and women to develop mental fortitude and practical coping strategies, helping them handle the pressure of training and competition. Athletes gain insights into managing stress, building self-esteem, and supporting one another through the emotional ups and downs of sports.
